BIKES FOR EVERY BODY - ADAPTIVE CYCLING RESOURCE

Bike Trailers

Bike trailers or tag-alongs are attachments added to the back of a standard 2-wheel bicycle which allow a second rider to be pulled along behind.  The rear rider may not have pedals or the pedals may be not be connected to the drivetrain meaning they may not receive exercise.

There are a variety of options for toddlers and children who can't ride a bicycle alone yet. There are also adult trailers for riders with disabilities who are unable to safely ride a bicycle alone. Trailers can also be used to ride bikes with pets.

Electric Assist: Bike trailers generally do not have electric assist; but due to the additional weight of a trailer and rider, the bike hauling the trailer may have electric assist.
